Police ID Long Island Man Killed In Wrong-Way Fatal Crash Involving Allegedly Drunk Driver

The identity has been released of a Long Island man killed in a wrong-way crash involving an allegedly drunk driver, according to police.

Noel Pastora, age 56, of Hempstead, was driving a 2000 Dodge Dakota westbound in the eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway (Route 27), west of Locust Avenue, in Oakdale when his vehicle struck an eastbound sedan around 1:50 a.m. Sunday, June 27, Suffolk County Police said.

The driver of the sedan, now identified as Dominick Capizola, age 73, of Sayville, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Pastora was charged with driving while intoxicated. 

He was held at the Fifth Precinct and arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday, June 27.
